Richard Alley addresses the 2009 American Geophysical Union giving the Bjerkness lecture on the earth's history and mechanisms for "thermostat" climate equilibrium. This is a fascinating high-speed look at the earth's several billion year history and what we can learn from the traces left by ancient events and processes.

Thanks Jeff; I fixed it :) -Rob

This was the BJerknes Lecture. Richard was the Nye Lecturer back in 2004 -

Richard Alley (Penn State) describes earth's climate history and the mechanisms behind the "global thermostat". I highly recommend this talk as a set of fascinating ideas on how the earth system operates.
